Abraham Lincoln

“The dogmas of the quiet past are inadequate to the stormy present. The occasion is piled high with difficulty, and we must rise with the occasion. As our case is new, so we must think anew and act anew. ”
— Abraham Lincoln

Just as soon as I finish my coursework, I’m going read more Abraham Lincoln. He is one of those people famous for soomething else (see also: Van Gogh) who should be feted as a world-class philosophical writer.

  1. That quote reminded me of another one, although I can’t name the source and I’m almost certain I’ll butcher the exact wording but it went something like, “No problem can be solved with the same level of thinking that created it.”

Obviously I’m not as articulate as Mr. Lincoln. Nor am I on the penny.
