Women: their role

Things are bad enough in Britain for poor females (and females make up, disproportionately, the ranks of the poor) but they are infinitely worse outside the first world. Statistics released for International Women’s Dayreveal the lives of women around the world to be nasty, brutish and short.

I am appalled, though not surprised, by statistics like: “Women work two-thirds of the world’s working hours, yet earn only a tenth of its income” and “Women produce half the world’s food, but own less than two per cent of the land.” It’s time for a sit-down protest. We need to stop picking up after men, cooking their dinners, doing their drudge work… let’s see how long they survive without us.
