One thing guaranteed to make me grind my teeth is newspapers and magazines using Twitter as a source. Duane Gundrum at Open Salon has written an excellent blog on why some star’s Twitter feed is NOT a news story. For the love of jumpin’ jehosephat, Tweets are not news. Subscribing to someone’s Twitter feed does not an investigative reporter make. Twitter is narcissistic nonsense and no amount of “oh, but it lets people tell their side of the story”-style justification is going to make me think otherwise.
Reducing life to all these short message tools, is not my way to communicate .
Wonders how it affects the ability of his user to understand complex matters.
Wonders how it affects the ability of his user to take time to reflect deeper.
I don’t even consider cell phones or microwaves a “necessity” to life.
I can not look at TV productions full of short cuts creating a false concept of “something happens”, mostly to hide the flat script. On what drug must one be to enjoy such an hysteria?
